We celebrated all that is wild and wonderful on May 4, 2013, at our 2013 Opening Day benefit: Wild Horses and Wild Flowers. This upscale and festive family event featured organic gourmet food along with wine tastings by Jalama Winery, Joseph Blair Wines, and Flying Goat Cellars.
New Vineland Bread Co. (featured on the cover of this months’ Edible Santa Barbara) served their scrumptious apricot schiacciata bread. Beautiful acoustic guitarist and singer Jacqueline Fuentes performed live. A special surprise bluegrass/swing band appeared to perform live during the event as well!
Also featured: silent auction benefit, children’s activities, hayrides, vendors, and more. The highlight of the day was a ceremonial release of the herds into their spring pastures, accompanied by a native American tribal blessing by Pete Crowheart (Comanche) and Mathew Zepeda (Little Dog Creek Apache).
Tickets were $45 each, $25 for kids 12 and under.
