In a massive 10-day roundup that ended August 14,  an estimated 307 wild horses and 18 burros were captured and permanently removed from their home at the Sheldon National Fish and Wildlife Refuge in Nevada.

The Fish and Wildlife Service plans to continue with additional roundups until all wild horses and burros

32,000+ Citizens Sign Petition to Protest Pending Removal of 800+ Mustangs from Designated Habitat Areas

Casper, WY (August 1, 2014) – The American Wild Horse Preservation Campaign (AWHPC), The Cloud Foundation, and Return to Freedom today filed a lawsuit in federal court in Wyoming to block the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) from rounding up over 800 wild horses from the Adobe Town, Salt Wells and Divide Basin Herd Management Areas (HMAs) in the southwestern part of the state. In just over a week, over 32,000 citizens signed a petition protesting this pending roundup.
