Our Ambassador Horses

Spirit was used as an inspiration and model for the artists and animators during the making of the 2002 DreamWorks animated film Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron. Spirit is listed in the Steens Mountain Kiger Registry as Donner of Steens Mountain.

Sutter has become one of our greatest teachers and reminds us that when we extend love, we receive it. Sutter was captured from public lands in the Warm Springs area of Nevada when he was about one year old.

Freedom is a bachelor stallion with an independent spirit that no one can take away. Born in 1999, Freedom arrived with Mystic’s herd. While his young herdmates socialized easily with humans, Freedom made it clear that he did not choose to be with people.

Isadora-Cruce is a Medicine Hat brown & white pinto and was born at Return to Freedom in July 2002. Her mother is Sonora-Cruce, a foundation mare who came off the Wilbur-Cruce Ranch when it was dispersed in 1990.

A new resident of Return to Freedom Wild Horse Sanctuary, this Cerbat stallion, Ambrasador Amante (translated as: Fiery Lover), plays a significant role in the conservancy’s Preservation Program.
